Deepnoid Completes Academic Exchange Seminar for Eradicating Tuberculosis in the Philippines
Deepnoid Inc. (CEO Woosik Choi), a first-generation domestic medical artificial intelligence company, held an academic exchange seminar on the topic of tuberculosis with the Department of Physiology at the University of the Philippines (UP), the first national university in the Philippines, which visited Korea.
The seminar was held to share the current status of tuberculosis in both countries and to seek ways to eradicate tuberculosis. Professors from the Department of Physiology at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the faculty) and domestic tuberculosis and healthcare authorities attended and shared their opinions, and Deepnoid CMO Choi Hyun-seok explained in detail how the AI-based lung disease detection assistance software DEEP:CHEST can be used to triage those subject to tuberculosis testing or treatment.
In addition, the faculty visited Deepnoid headquarters and experienced the solution firsthand, while also showing interest in DEEP:NEURO, an AI-based software that assists in diagnosing cerebral aneurysms.
Deepnoid CMO Hyun-Seok Choi said, “The Philippines wants to change the treatment system for tuberculosis patients for the better,” and added, “Through this academic exchange, we shared information about the medical situations in both countries and discussed various joint solutions, so we will seek solutions through future cooperation.”
Meanwhile, Philippine Ambassador to Korea Maria Theresa B. Dizon De Vega attended the event and expressed her gratitude for the cooperation between the two countries in eradicating tuberculosis in the Philippines.
